SPMC LOSSIGNOL JOINS PENET

SPMC LOSSIGNOL (turnover: €40 million) is a leading distributor in the Île-de-France region of products and equipment for public works companies and plumbing, heating and sanitary installers.

Founded in 1923, SPMC LOSSIGNOL has remained independent for over a century, operating in the same fields of activity:

• Sanitary ware, plumbing and heating

• Construction products and equipment

The company offers major brands on the market, with a wide choice of product references and excellent geographical coverage thanks to its 5 agencies in Ile-de-France (Chilly-Mazarin, Malakoff, Brie-Comte-Robert and Stains) totalling 26,000 m².

By relying on around fifty loyal employees, SPMC LOSSIGNOL has been able to cultivate and sustainably establish "human history" as a real asset of the company.

LINKERS, one of our Partners in France,  advised SPMC LOSSIGNOL during its sale to PENET.

PENET (turnover: €80 million): an independent trading company serving the construction industry, which has become a key player in Western France.

Founded in 1960 by René Penet, the PENET company is a major player in the distribution of supplies for building and public works, for network professionals.

Acquired in 1988 by its current CEO Thierry Penet, the company has established itself as a multi-regional leader in Normandy, the Pays de la Loire and Ile-de-France, relying on its 15 agencies and 170 employees.

PENET has expertise in supplies relating to 8 areas, mainly wastewater/drinking water sanitation, roadworks and utilities, green spaces and drinking water supply.

A specialist in "eco-responsible" solutions in the construction industry for over 60 years, PENET also stands out for its ability to respond to specific non-standardized needs of its diverse clientele of 3,000 professionals and communities.

The merger of two family companies with shared values allows them to establish themselves as a significant independent player (> €120 million in revenue)

With over 165 years of combined history, the group will be able to engage in a strategic approach of synergies in order to compete with the majors in the sector and offer a relevant alternative to customers.

The alliance will notably allow for the pooling of expertise and the strengthening of the efficiency of the services offered, the coverage of a wider territory with increased density in Ile-de-France, and the enrichment of product ranges, particularly in the areas of heating, sanitation and drinking water supply.

The financing of the operation was structured around a banking pool composed of Crédit Agricole, Société Générale and Caisse d'Epargne, supplemented by a minority stake taken by Capitem Partenaires.

Thierry Penet and Frédéric Fourest, respective directors of PENET and SPMC LOSSIGNOL, stated: “  This merger marks a major milestone in our shared history, driven by common values of independence, family roots, and expertise in the building and public works sector. […] This merger is based on the complementary nature of our teams and the excellence of our services. Together, we will continue to cultivate relationships of trust with all our partners, placing at the heart of our actions the technical expertise, responsiveness, and quality that have built our reputation.  ”
