ArsCorporate and PYI Capital closed strategic partnership between MELIA and VINPEARL
ArsCorporate, our Partner in Spain and PYI Capital, our Partner in Thailand and Vietnam, successfully closed a strategic partnership between MELIA and VINPEARL
Melia, listed on the Spanish stock exchange (IBEX 35), is one of the largest leisure hotel chains in the world. Based in Spain with a global footprint on 5 continents, wanted to grow a number of rooms under management – via M&A of management companies (OpCo’s) or – via the acquisition of new management contracts.
ArsCorporate, retained as a non-exclusive buy-side advisor to execute both objectives, reached out PYI Capital.
The largest hotel chain in Vietnam, owned by the largest company (Vingroup) and the richest person in Vietnam.
Vin Pearl is based in Hanoi, with a global footprint via VinFast, EV OEM. They wanted to refocus efforts on VinFast and real estate, thus looking to find a strategic partner to take over hotel operations via a strategic joint venture
PYI Capital, which is very close to Vingroup, re-introduced them to Melia via ArsCorporate.
The cooperation between these two largest resort hotel brands promises to offer both domestic and international tourists the opportunity to experience top-notch accommodation services and contribute to enhancing the position of Vietnam’s tourism in the global ranks.
Within the cooperation framework, Vinpearl will transfer the management rights of its 12 hotels and resorts to Meliá Hotels International for a minimum period of 10 years. Upon such transfer, the chain of 12 hotels will operate under the new brand “Meliá Vinpearl”, similar to other global 5-star chains such as Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Sol by Meliá and INNSiDE by Meliá.
