Utility Kit and MyKitVan taken over by Sparring Capital fund

Linkers, one of our MAWW partners in France advised Utility Kit and MyKitVan who were taken over by Sparring Capital fund. The group composed of the companies Kit Utilitaire (Les Sorinières) and MyKitVan (Couëron) has entered a new stage of its development. The founder, Stéphane Poppoff, has in fact sold a majority of his shares to the investment fund Sparring Capital. An operation which is accompanied by the arrival of a new manager.

Founded in 2008 in the Nantes region, the group formed by Kit Utilitaire and MyKitVan was taken over by the Parisian investment fund Sparring Capital. Which took a majority stake in these Nantes companies led by Stéphane Poppoff. Located in Sorinières, the company Kit Utilitaire, the group's historic activity, specializes in the design and marketing of interior design kits and exterior equipment for light commercial vehicles for a professional clientele via a national network of 1,100 distributors. For its part, MyKitVan (Couëron) transforms commercial vehicles into leisure vehicles for individuals and professionals. They have a cumulative turnover of €12 million, with annual growth of 20%, and employ 35 people.

 

This operation aims to implement a managerial transition in order to support the growth of the group, with in particular the arrival of a new manager, Pierre-Yves Buisson. It is carried out alongside the historical shareholders, who will remain present in the capital, and the management team of Kit Utilitaire and MyKitVan. "After 15 years of developing our group, I was looking for a partner with real experience in business transfer and development, capable of supporting me in the handover to ensure an optimal managerial transfer" , declares the founder of the group. Pierre-Yves Buisson, the new CEO, says he is attracted by "the original positioning" of this group as well as by "its strong growth prospects". According to him, the arrival of Sparring Capital will give the Nantes group "the means to implement our development objectives, whether in France or internationally".
