Dr. Axel Steuernagel

Axel has more than 25 years of experience as CEO, entrepreneur, M&A and McKinsey strategy consultant. In CEO positions he led various entrepreneurial companies with up to 400 Mio. EUR, belonging to family-held groups such as Bertelsmann as well as renowned Private Equity firms. Axel has managed many successful M&A transactions as well as growth & transformation projects across industry sectors such as media, e-commerce, software, consumer goods and real estate. He leads our Consumer & Retail and Internet, Software & Technology groups and is also active across other industries. Axel has worked across Western and Eastern Europe and speaks five European languages. He is part of our Munich team.

Dr. Claudius Schikora

Claudius has more than 25 years of experience as an Entrepreneur, CEO and Consultant. In CEO positions, he led one of the largest private universities in Germany as president and a media company, and two entrepreneurial companies as CEO. Claudius has also management and consulting experience at Procter & Gamble, Siemens and Bavaria Film Group. He has managed several successful M&A transaction projects. He is also an active start-up investor and Business Angel in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, and Claudius is a member of several supervisory boards. He is part of our Consumer & Retail and Internet, Software & Technology groups and is also active across other industries. Claudius has worked across Western and Eastern Europe and is part of our Munich team.

Laura Steuernagel

Before joining S&P, Laura was a business development manager and a strategic assistant to a divisional board member at Rhenus Logistics, one of the largest German logistics companies. In her roles, she was involved in M&A processes and managed international projects. Laura studied business at Passau University and at the renown Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU) for her master, which she is about to finish with a thesis on M&A advisory. Laura is part of our Munich office.

Christian Staby

Christian has more than 35 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment management and M&A. The last 10 years, Christian led the M&A departments for market leading and family owned automotive and rail systems suppliers in the DACH region (Knorr-Bremse AG, Miba AG). During the prior 15 years, he acquired energy and environmental technology companies for a US private equity firm and was senior investment manager in a German venture capital fund. Before that, he held a senior position in the corporate development department of Deutsche Bank AG, was project leader at Bain & Co. in Munich and Zurich, and an investment manager and institutional sales executive for leading private banks in New York, Paris and Cologne. Immediately after graduation he completed a one year industry training program in Argentina. Christian is part of the Munich office and head of the automotive and mobility group.

Tilman Georg Eckstein

Tilman has more than 35 years of experience in the banking, automotive and management consulting sectors. He began his career in International Sales and Marketing at the BMW Group. For two Munich-based consulting firms, he worked on numerous transformation projects and in the investment sector (VC / PE). Over the past 15 years, Tilman has led numerous M&A transactions. He is a trained banker (Dresdner Bank) and holds a degree in business administration from the University of Cologne. At S&P, he heads the Automotive & Mobility industry group and is a member of the Logistics and Health Care groups. He has international experience in the UK, USA, South Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Tilman speaks German, English and French. He is part of the Munich team of S&P and lives in the Bremen area.

Manfred Gamauf

With more than 25 years of international experience in strategy, procurement, M&A, and post-merger integration, Manfred brings extensive expertise to S&P’s clients. A qualified lawyer, he built his career during longer tenures as a manager at McKinsey and White Case. He also held various international leadership positions in the TMT sector (IBM, KPN) as well as in the packaging industry (Mondi Group).
In recent years, Manfred has supported a number of mid-sized companies and private equity investors as an advisor on their growth and transformation journeys.
Manfred is based in our Munich office and lives privately in Vienna. His regional focus lies on Southern Germany and Austria. He is a key partner for entrepreneurs and investors considering growth, partnerships, or succession solutions, relying on his deep industry expertise and hands-on implementation experience.

Senior Advisor

Matthias Puschnig

Matthias Puschnig has more than 30 years of experience as a consultant, CEO and entrepreneur in the IT industry and in the service of the federal government. He has held several management positions at medium-sized IT companies and has been involved in start-ups and related M&A cases.
At the Federal Ministry of Defence, he was primarily responsible for multinational military policy tasks in connection with NATO and the EU and is now a member of the management team of the Special Task Force Ukraine. He is our expert for the defence and IT industries. Matthias has worked in several countries in Europe and North America, including crisis areas, speaks English, French and Russian, and is based at our Munich office.
