Joined Armillary Private Capital as an Executive Director, after a 37-year banking career, initially in the UK with Barclays and subsequently in New Zealand with Westpac New Zealand Limited. From 1995, led and cultivated high performing teams at Westpac NZ’s Corporate Banking, Leveraged Finance (Private Equity funded investments including M&A, MBO/I’s), Property Finance, and more recently Agribusiness, Commercial and Business Banking. These teams have been specifically responsible for providing banking solutions to the Primary, Corporate, Property and Business sectors and clients whilst supporting strategic growth and development of the bank’s key strategic priorities and development through programmes of transformation, continuous improvement, and operating within acceptable Risk and Regulatory parameters.
Transformation programmes include Customer Insight, Customer Acquisition, People Development and Capability, Digital Transformation, Service Leadership through Sales Force Effectiveness, Productivity and Cost Management, and Infrastructure Development. As the former Head of Business Banking at Westpac NZ, along with a leadership team, led teams ranging from 25 specialists to 500 banking generalists throughout NZ who work closely with clients and stakeholders that range from Commercial through to Corporate and Institutional customers delivering solutions and advice to help them succeed today and be well placed for tomorrow’s opportunities. Responsibilities have included providing a Business Banking strategy a subset of the Westpac NZ and Institutional & Business Banking strategy.
